Thai massage is based on the theory that “lom”, our life force energy, flows through a system of channels called sen lines. When lom is blocked, tension, dysfunction or disease are created in our bodies. Julia use palpation combined with active and passive stretching.

To facilitate relaxation and a more therapeutic benefit, she uses the heat of steamed herbal packs that she prepares with herbs from Thailand. These steamed packs help to relax deeply  the muscles and tendons. 

In Thai massage it is not just the hands that are used to free tension from the recipient’s body, but the therapists feet, forearms, knees, and elbows as well. 

Thai massage is traditionally applied on a mat on the floor, the work is done fully clothed and no oils are required.

A consistent Thai bodywork can move deeper into the mechanical functions of the body, help working with deep muscle tension and joint mobility as well as nerve and ligament balancing.

SPECIFICS:   

 - Sessions are approximately 2 or 3 hours in length.  

 - you are advised to allow half a day for preparation, session time and integration.

 - Recipients should not eat for at least 2 hours prior to the session

and refrain from caffeine, alcohol, recreational drugs & cigarettes for at least 24 hours before and 3 days after. 

 - Please remove contact lenses and strong perfumes/scented products before your session. 

 - Plan open ended time afterwards to allow for integration.
